Bulls On Elysium is an onchain herd economy on Elysium mainnet. It starts with 2,222 Genesis tokens: 1,111 Bulls and 1,111 Cows, pixel art stored fully onchain, and turns them into living assets: they earn, breed, merge, get forged and race.

Every system feeds the same token, $HAY, and every system also burns something. Bulls create value by being held and used, and the herd gets rarer the more people play.

The herd is split exactly in half: 1,111 Bulls and 1,111 Cows. They share the same 146 traits and the same rarity, so neither side is rarer than the other.

🧬 Generations

Genesis bulls are the only ones that can be minted, and they keep perks no calf has: higher breed limit, Genesis airdrop and a stronger vote.

$HAY is the herd's token on Elysium. Bulls produce it; every other system consumes it.

📊 Daily rates (Season 1)

Rarity comes from a bull's traits: rare traits are drawn in dark ink, and the more dark slots a bull has, the rarer it ranks.

🔥 Loyalty streak

• Every day a bull stays in the same wallet adds +1% to its grazing, up to +30% after 30 days.
• Selling or transferring the bull resets its streak to zero.
• The streak follows the bull, so a well-held bull is worth more to its owner.

🍼 Calves

Calves graze at a reduced rate while they grow, then switch to the full rate for their rarity once adult. See Calves & Growth.

An adult Bull and an adult Cow you own can breed a Calf: a brand new NFT that inherits traits from both parents. Unlike the Merge, both parents stay with you.

🧪 How it works

1. Pick an adult Bull and an adult Cow you own (Genesis or grown calves).
2. Pay the breeding cost in $HAY.
3. A calf is minted to your wallet: 50% Bull calf, 50% Cow calf. Both parents go on a 7-day cooldown.

💰 Cost & limits

• Genesis bulls can breed 3 times; calves can breed 2 times once adult.
• The cost uses the higher breed count of the two parents.
• 50% of every breeding fee is burned, 50% goes to the treasury.

🧬 Inheritance

• Each trait slot comes from parent A (45%), parent B (45%) or mutates (10%) into a random trait.
• A mutation has a small chance to roll a Rare, Epic or even Legendary trait.
• The calf's generation is one higher than its highest-generation parent.
• Legends can breed once per season. Their calves get a Divine mutation chance of 25%.

A calf grows up while it stays in your wallet. Growth unlocks its utility step by step.

• Selling a calf pauses its growth for 3 days.
• A Growth Tonic relic instantly moves a calf to the next stage.
• Calves are drawn smaller, with nub horns, until they're adult.

The Merge burns a Bull and a Cow and gives you one stronger one that keeps the rarest trait from every slot. You choose whether it comes out as a Bull or a Cow. It's the fastest way to a rare token, and it permanently shrinks the supply.

📜 Rules

1. Cost: burn 1 adult Bull + 1 adult Cow you own + 300 $HAY (100% burned).
2. Gender: you choose whether the result is a Bull or a Cow.
3. Black background: every merged token is redrawn on black (trait Background: Merged Black), so merged NFTs are easy to tell apart on secondary markets.
4. Traits: in every slot the rarer trait wins; on a tie, the trait owned by fewer bulls wins.
5. Generation: the result keeps the lower generation of the two (merge a Genesis bull and it stays Genesis).
6. Fresh start: the merged bull's breed count resets to zero.
7. Scrap: each merge also drops 2 Scrap, used in the Forge.
8. Legends and Ascended bulls can't be merged.

The Forge is the herd's workshop. Spend $HAY and Scrap to change a single trait or craft Relics that boost everything else.

🔩 Scrap

Scrap is the Forge's material. You get it from merges (2 per merge) and from every Stampede race you finish (1 per race). Scrap is an onchain item you can trade.

Reforging re-rolls one trait slot on a bull you own. Use it to chase a dark trait in the one slot holding your bull back from Ascension.

• Cost: 150 $HAY + 1 Scrap per reforge (100% of the $HAY is burned).
• The new trait is rolled from that slot's full pool, weighted by rarity.
• Pity: after 5 reforges on the same slot without a Rare or better, the next one is guaranteed Rare or better.
• A Lucky Horseshoe relic doubles the Rare-or-better odds of your next reforge.

Relics are single-use items crafted in the Forge. They're tradeable, so crafting them is also a way to earn.

75% of the $HAY spent crafting relics is burned. New relics are added each season by Council vote.

The Stampede is a weekly race. Enter a bull, and the race is settled onchain from your bull's stats plus a fair random roll.

Rarer traits give higher stats, but the random roll means any bull can win on its day.

• Entry: 50 $HAY per bull per race.
• Pool: 80% to the top finishers, 10% burned, 10% to the treasury.
• Every finisher earns 1 Scrap.
• Calves race in a separate junior league until they're adult.
• Each season ends with a leaderboard; the top herds win Relics and $HAY from the Season Rewards pool.

The endgame. When all 8 trait slots of a bull (Top, Eyes, Mouth, Dress, Horns, Ears, Nose, Marking) are Rare or better, the bull can ascend.

🧭 How to get there

Almost no bull is born ascended. Merge to stack dark traits, reforge the last stubborn slot, or breed and hope for a lucky mutation.

The Council is how holders steer the herd. Proposals cover treasury spending, new Relics, Stampede rules and season rewards.

A proposal passes with a majority of votes cast and a quorum of 10% of all votes.

Every bull's art is a tiny SVG (about 4 KB) stored onchain. Calves, merges and reforges are drawn onchain by the same engine, so the herd exists as long as Elysium does.

What's the difference between Breeding and the Merge?

Both need a Bull and a Cow. Breeding keeps both parents and creates a new calf. The Merge burns the pair and gives you one stronger Bull or Cow.

Are calves worth less than Genesis bulls?

Calves graze less while they grow and breed fewer times, and they can't get the Genesis airdrop. Once adult, a calf with great traits can still out-graze a common Genesis bull.
